SEN Teacher

Smart Education is recruiting an SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 4–16 in a specialist school setting in Dudley.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an SEN Teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

 

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will teach and support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Visual Impairment (VI), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Physical Disabilities (PD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The successful SEN Teacher will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning experiences that promote confidence, independence, and progress.

 

Job Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, SLD, MLD, VI, PD, and SLCN

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals

  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise outcomes

Requirements for an SEN Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant SEN teaching qualification

  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • A caring, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching

  • Passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
